Job Title: Cook/ Chef
The Cook Responsibilities are:
Prepare a variety of ingredients, sauce, etc, based on the needs of the kitchen
Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in fridges, freezers, and storage areas
Wash, peel, and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving
Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
Prepare and cook meals and dishes for guests with food allergies or intolerances
Ensures that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines.
Stock line coolers and storage areas before, during and after service
Clean and sanitize a variety of kitchen equipment
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Assist with washing and sanitizing dishes as necessary
Assist with plating for banquets and functions.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Completion of an apprenticeship program, completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety, or 2 to 3 years of cooking experience required.
Valid Food Handler Certificate required
Knowledge of food safety procedures and practices
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Effective communication and organizational skills
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team, as well as independently
Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
Reliable transportation is essential
