Community Inclusion Workers assist individuals to participate in personal, social, vocational and volunteer opportunities within the community. We encourage and empower supported individuals to be independent, self-determining and to live the life they envision while ensuring excellent standards of care, health and safety are maintained.
POSITION: Community Inclusion Worker
LOCATION: Kelowna and surrounding area
HOURS: Part Time: 23 Hours/Week & Casual positions available
POSITION SUMMARY:
· Ensure the individual's needs are met
· Assist the Individual to achieve goals and objectives as stated in their Personal Service Plan
· Ability to promote positive relations with co-workers, other professionals, family and community members
· Participate in all recreation and leisure activities including swimming
· Assist with medical appointments
· Meal preparation, laundry and other in-house tasks
· Work in conjunction with Individual and co-workers to maintain a clean and tidy suite
· Perform tasks as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum Grade 12
· Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent preferred
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in the community social services/health care field preferred
· Successful experience working with challenging behaviours and mental health needs
· Good communication (verbal & written) to effectively liaise with team members, professionals, family, and community members
· Current Emergency First Aid/CPR Certification
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license
